Full day birding along the Elevala River and onto Ekame.

Day 8 - FRIDAY TABUBIL/TARI
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Tari. Arrive and transfer to Ambua lodge. Afternoon bird watching around the lodge grounds.

Day 9/10 - SATURDAY/SUNDAY TARI
Full day birding in the Tari Gap area. Here you will have the opportunity to view 13 different species of the Bird of Paradise. Birding in this area is a birders paradise and an opportunity not to be missed. (Meals: B L D)
Day 11 - MONDAY TARI/PORT MORESBY
Transfer to the airport for flight to Port Moresby. Arrive and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon tour of the city and surrounds including a visit to the Botanical gardens where you will have the opportunity to see a Raggiana Bird of Paradise on display.

Day 12 - TUESDAY PORT MORESBY
Full day birding in the vicinity of the Varirata National Park area. (Meals: - L-)

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Goroka via Port Moresby, arrive at the Goroka airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 4 GOROKA
Today you will have a full day tour of the Goroka area and surrounds with visits to JK McCarthy Museum, coffee plantations and factory and the Goroka market. Your highlight of the tour will be a visit to the Asaro village to witness the eerie ritual dances of the mud masked men "Mudmen" dance. (Meals: -L-)
Day 5 GOROKA/MT HAGEN
A full day coach tour traveling along the Okuk Highway (named after one of the famous highlands leaders Iambaky Okuk), passing through the Daulo Pass you descend into the Watabung valley with panaromic views of the highlands valleys and beautiful waterfalls and again traveling through the populous Chimbu Province passing the township of Kundiawa, you arrive in Mt Hagen.

Day 6 MT HAGEN/WABAG
Continue your journey traveling through alpine grasslands and moss forest through eye catching natural waterfalls you arrive in Wabag, the provincial capital of the Enga Province. Time permitting a visit is made to the Wabag Cultural Center where you have the opportunity to see various traditional artifacts, paintings, carvings etc.

Day 7 WABAG
To day a full day tour of the Wabag area and surrounds with visits to the beautiful Lake Ipae in the Sirunki area. The people of Enga speak one common language and their traditions and cultures are very unique. If you are lucky you may be able to witness a cultural performance preferably a traditional sing-sing or a marriage ceremony. (Meals: BLD)
Day 8 WABAG/WAPENAMANDA/PORT MORESBY
Transfer to the Wapenamanda airport for your flight back to Port Moresby. Arrive in Port Moresby and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon and if time permitting a brief tour of the city and surrounds including visits to the National Museum, Botanical Gardens, National Parliament House, PNG Arts shop etc.

Day 9 PORT MORESBY/DEPART

Spend the whole day touring the beautiful homes of the Apo People, their life styles, visits to coffee plantations, JK McCarthy Museum and its surroundings. Stop over at Asaro Village for the eerie ritual dances of the mud mask “MUDMEN” performance. Up to the Daulo Pass at 2470m that affords superb view of the magnificent Asaro Valley and Benabena Valley. Return to Goroka.

Fly to Mt Hagen. Upon arrival transfer to hotel. Afternoon tour of Mt Hagen town and surrounding areas with visits to the beautiful Mt Hagen market, one of the biggest local markets in Papua New Guinea.

Day 6 WAGHI VALLEY.

Day 3 WAGHI VALLEY
Perhaps today will be the most interesting and exciting part of the expedition. From the bustling central highlands township of Mt Hagen, you escape into the magnificent Waghi Valley, nesting over 800000-100000 people from different parts of Papua New Guinea. Stop over at a local village for village study, smiling, friendly people greet you, glad to see visitors on their seldom used roads. A performance of the eerie ritual dances of the mud masked men "Mudmen" dance will also be demonstrated. Visits to large scale tea and coffee plantations and factories will also be included. Day 4 MT HAGEN/WEWAK/ SEPIK REGION
Transfer to Airport. Fly by third level Airline to Wewak. Transfer by 4WD to Sepik River. Take Dugout Canoe and journey – entering the famous Sepik River Basin.

Day 5 & 6 SEPIK RIVER
Full Day canoeing along the mighty Sepik River, visiting villages, people and study their life-style. This region is world re-known for their prolific carvings and art designs.

Day 3 & 4 TARI

Day 5 TARI/PORT MORESBY
Transfer to the airport for flight to Port Moresby, arrive and transfer to the hotel. If time permitting brief city sightseeing tour.

Hike/trek up to the Piunde Lakes bas camp. Balance of the visit around the natural environment with it’s beautiful lakes of Piunde and Yaundo.

Day 4 SUMMIT/KEGLSUGL
Very early hike to the summit of Mt Wilhelm. From the top you will have an excellent view of parts of the countryside. Return to base camp for lunch and proceed back to Keglsugl.

Day 5 KEGLSUGL/GOROKA
Depart Keglsugl by 4WD vehicle and drive to Goroka again traveling through the populous Chimbu Province passing the Daulo pass at 2470m and descend into the Asaro Valley. Finally you arrive in Goroka.

Trek the world famous Kokoda Trail with overnights in village guest houses or campsites. Along this trail was once the battle site for the Allied and the Japanese forces. Many lives were lost during this bloody war. You will also meet with local people who will give you a good story of what had happened during the war. (Meals: B L D)
Day 9 (SUNDAY or WEDNESDAY) OWERS CORNER/PORT MORESBY
Last day trek and arrive and the Owers Corner. Here you will be met by your pickup vehicle and transfer to Port Moresby via a visit to the Bomana War Cemetery.
